Each year on 15 June, organisations, groups and individuals with an interest in elder abuse prevention mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD), an initiative that was started in Canada by the International Federation on Ageing (IFA) and that now reaches across the globe. For the past two years, Seniors Rights Victoria has held a day-long workshop on WEAAD as its contribution to global efforts to raise awareness of elder abuse.
